Governance and Leadership

KSimN is governed by an Executive Committee elected by the membership. The
Executive Committee oversees the strategic direction and daily operations of the
network.
KSimN will also establish committees focused on specific areas as listed below. These
committees will be led by chairs appointed by the Executive Committee.

Quality Assurance and Standardization Committee:

This committee will focus on developing and implementing best practices for
simulation centers across Kenya. They can research existing standards,
adapt them to the Kenyan context, and create resources and training
programs for simulation staff.

Collaboration and Resource Sharing Committee:

This committee will foster collaboration among KSimN members by identifying
and pursuing opportunities to share resources. This could involve developing
a shared simulation library, creating joint faculty development programs, or
facilitating communication and collaboration on ongoing simulation projects.

Research and Evaluation Committee:

This committee will spearhead research initiatives in medical simulation. They
can identify priority research areas (e.g., effectiveness of specific simulation
modalities, impact on patient outcomes), facilitate collaborative research
projects among KSimN members, and establish a platform for sharing
research findings and best practices.

Accreditation and Advocacy Committee:

This committee will explore the potential benefits and pathways for pursuing
accreditation for simulation centers in Kenya. They can research existing
accreditation bodies, identify the most suitable options for the Kenyan
context, and develop strategies to advocate for and support the
implementation of accreditation standards.
